Catering to patient needs
All our efforts should be directed
towards satisfying patient demands.
Their needs and desires should be
addressed first.
We, that is, the dentists and dental
technicians, should assist patients in an
advisory capacity, but not dominate the
decision making process. Our obligation
is merely to recommend feasible
procedures and point out their limita-
tions if necessary.
Taking the desires of patients seriously
and meeting their aesthetic demands
will contribute to the achievement of a
high level of personal satisfaction and an
enhanced quality of life.
In this case, the desire of the patient was
to have brighter, «whiter» teeth.
For the posterior region, the
SR Orthotyp® DCL denture teeth were
chosen due to functional reasons. I
merely stained the teeth slightly in the
fissure area on the occlusal aspect and
imparted them with a more intensive
chroma in the tooth neck section.
