Internal characterization of the incisal third
A more personalized appearance can
be achieved by carefully reducing the
incisal portion, applying stains and
subsequently rebuilding the incisal edge
with veneering ceramic.
Depending on the effort they wish to
undertake or the effects desired,
technicians have the option of either
working with Stains and/or Effect
materials. The internal characterizations
are subsequently covered with a layer of
Transpa or Incisal materials. For this
purpose, the SR Adoro
®
range (Ivoclar
Vivadent) of materials can be used,
which offers a myriad of creative
options.
However, the increased effort and time
involved when using this method needs
to be taken into account.
The pictures on the right show several
examples realized with this technique.
The same technique can also be used to
apply characterizations in other areas of
the tooth.
