Sintering
Finally, the zirconium frameworks are
sintered in a sintering furnace. It
should be noted that both systems are
compatible for sintering (Fig. 8). The
Ceramill Therm2 sintering furnace,
which is suitable for the Ceramill sys-
tem, is designed to operate the respec-
tive sinter parameters very precisely.
This involves both the temperature
rate up to the final temperature of the
sintering procedure and the related
times in the sintering cycle.
The sintering diagram clearly shows
the sequence of the entire sintering
process in the Therm2 (Fig. 9). It shows
the temperature rate up to the final
temperature of 1450°C: This tempera-
ture is held for two hours and lowered
using a controlled cooling phase to
900°C as well as the final cooling of the
furnace.
